Kinjo

Itameshi in Hyde Park: Italian food with Japanese sensibilities from Chefs Eric and Adriana Fralick. Small room, so book ahead.

Kinjo is a small Itameshi spot at 224 S. Boulevard in Hyde Park. Chefs Eric and Adriana Fralick describe it simply: Italian food made with Japanese sensibilities. The room is intimate, and the restaurant strongly recommends a reservation.

The menu changes often with the seasons. Recent listings include sourdough with cultured butter and confit yolk, a cacio e pepe chawanmushi, Hokkaido scallop crudo with tomato ponzu, and house pastas like short rib pappardelle with tobanjan and snow crab agnolotti del plin. Desserts lean playful, like a strawberry and tomato "caprese" with basil granita.

Want the full run? Book the seven-course Kinjo Tasting through Tock, or grab a Chef's Counter seat and order a la carte. Hours are not posted on the website, so check Tock or call (813) 304-0000 before heading over.
