If you have ever watched a pelican tangled in fishing line, this one is worth an evening. Becky Schneider, a regional species conservation biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, walks through FWC's work to cut pier-fishing harm to Tampa Bay's brown pelicans, including the Skyway Pier Angler Ambassador Program, where trained pier fishers learn safe ways to rescue birds.
Thursday, Nov 5. Potluck at 6:30 p.m. (bring a dish to share), announcements at 7:15 p.m., and the presentation at 7:30 p.m. Tampa Audubon says its monthly meetings are public and everyone is welcome. No price is listed. You can also join on Zoom.
