Challenge Island brings its screen-free, hands-on approach to Fendig Library for a trip to ancient Egypt. Kids learn how the pyramids of Giza were built, uncover the secrets of mummies, and write their names in hieroglyphics, then use a treasure chest of low-tech supplies to build their own mummy and square-bottomed pyramid. Recommended for ages 6 to 12, and funded by the Friends of the Charles J. Fendig Library. Registration is open on the library's event page.
Cost: Free (registration open, 40 spots). Address: 3909 W Neptune St, Tampa, FL 33629. Details: https://hcplc.libnet.info/event/17476386
